Realm Admin SMTP configuration

Since Jan 2025, Google updated the usage of third-party apps (AKA: less secure apps) and now, user needs to perform a bit more actions to setup the Email Configuration page.

From now, you can’t use your own gmail account password for the SMTP client, password should be generated through the google service.

Actions to unable the SMTP:

1. Go to the - https://myaccount.google.com/

2. Select “Security“ tab

3. In the security tab, you need to perform 2 actions

   1. Enable 2 step verification

      Open

      

      After enabling the 2 step ver, at the bottom of the “2 step ver” page, you should see the “App passwords” section, in this section, you need to generate a password, which can be used by third party app (such as realmadmin SMTP)

      Save generated password

   2. Enable “less-secure-app“

   3. Update the password in the realmadmin “Email Configuration“
